France

HQ in Paris · our core expertise

Our home market: Rootovia is headquartered in Paris and our consultants work here every day. A network of agencies and landlords, a fine read of neighbourhoods, known contacts at the préfecture and the health insurance office. The real pressure point is housing in the Paris region, where the tenant file and the guarantor decide everything; on the residence side, the EU moves freely and the “passeport talent” offers a clear route for qualified non-Europeans.

≈ 1416 € Cost of living

Spain

Climate, still-reasonable costs outside the big cities, and a language a French speaker picks up fast. Housing in Madrid and Barcelona is the real pressure point; the non-lucrative and digital-nomad visas open the door to non-Europeans.

≈ 1345 € Cost of living

Portugal

A newcomer-friendly setup, readable D7 and D8 visas, an established French-speaking community. The trade-off: Lisbon and Porto have seen rents soar and the administration (AIMA, formerly SEF) is running significant delays.

≈ 1344 € Cost of living

Germany

A deep job market, solid salaries, an easier EU Blue Card since the 2023 reform, and the €49 Deutschlandticket that eases the transport budget. Against that: demanding bureaucracy, German quickly essential, and a very tight housing market in Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt.

≈ 1649 € Cost of living

Canada

For a French speaker, Québec removes the language barrier and offers a dedicated immigration route (PSTQ, PEQ). The rest of the country goes through Express Entry. Watch-outs: the Working Holiday runs by invitation rounds, housing costs climb fast in Toronto and Vancouver, and winter is a real factor.

≈ 1585 € Cost of living

United Kingdom

Since Brexit, no more free movement: you need a sponsored visa to work, with a high salary threshold and the health surcharge (IHS) paid upfront. In return, a dynamic job market, English as the only language, and an ID-card-free system built on digital status (eVisa).

What supported clients say

Reviews collected after the case is closed, tied to a country and a service.

« Arriving in Paris for the new term with no French guarantor, I thought it was hopeless. Rootovia built my file, secured the Visale guarantee and lined up three viewings in a week in the 13th. Lease signed five days before classes started. »

« “Qualified employee” passeport talent from Buenos Aires: an exact document list, amounts checked for consistency, VLS-TS validated online on arrival with zero back-and-forth. You could tell they do this in Paris every week. »

« I was scared to sign a lease in Barcelona from Lyon. Rootovia had the nota simple checked, joined me on video for three viewings and negotiated the deposit down to one month. I moved in without ever setting foot in the flat before the day itself. »
